I like the way the poster uses a colour scheme of apple green, white and black. This has been done to make sure that none of the colours clash within the poster and procude an eye sore. I really like the way that the white contrasts against the green of the Adam's dress and Goode's clothes. This has been done so that the text stands out from the rest of the image, making it easier for the audience to see. I think that the colour green has many denotations, for example green could mean jealousy, this could be a hint at the story line, as the movie poster tells us that the character Adam is playing is about to get married. However the other character played by Goode is not her boyfriend, so it could be telling the audience that Goode is jealous of the other characters relationship, wanting to be in one with her. The colour green could also represent, that Adam has found love in Goode, who lives in Ireland.
I really like the photograph that has been used for this movie poster. The shot which has been used is a Medium longshot, as it cuts off at knees. The reason why this shot has been used is because I think the producer is trying to illustrate and play on the idea of having a perfect relationship, as it looks like a photograph which every happily married couple would have in their homes. In the film the character is portrayed as a hopeless romantic, this can be seen through this photograph by the way she is holding her engagment ring, with her hand on her chest looking like she is flattered. Where good looks like he isn't too sure about the whole situation, this can be seen through his facial expression.
The poster uses the usual conventions that a movie poster would use, for example it has the main movie title, with the movie credits and the actors names above it. The thing I like about this poster and I think it makes this one quite unique, is the black text at the top, I think that this tells us what the storyline is about without giving too much away.
For my own movie poster, I think I am going to incorporate a colour to symbolise something that the movie means. For example I could use the colour red to symbolise love and passion, or I could find another colour which symbolises mourning, since my main character loses the person she loves.
I also admire the contrasting colours of the white text, and I will definately be inculding this into my poster, as I think it is vital for a poster to look professional and appealing.
